Blog reflection #2

Last week we presented about three different topics. Group one talked about education and economy. They talked about how the economy affects education, how often the higher the education of a person, the higher the possibilities to earn more, and they also gave resources for those that maybe cannot afford a college education. Group two was my group, we talked about mental health and fun. We emphasized the relationship between the two, how they are necessary to life a healthy life, and we also talked about how governments could help to implemented fun and mental health to their citizens. Group three talked about how families, mostly parents, besides of genders and cultures affect the decision of young people when it comes to choose a career paths. These are all important topics and every group took their own way to explain each topic, making the presentation informational, useful and entertaining. Each of these topics are important to be talked about and can be implemented into our personal lives.

Family and education have a lot to do, even if it does not sound that way at first. Every family has their own view on education depending on their past experiences and cultures. The views of the families affect the way kids will look at education in the future and the priority they will put into their college education. Gender and culture could also affect the decision making of a career path. Most think that person makes their decisions for their own will, but the aspects talked before could interfere on people following their dreams and perusing their goals for the fear of what others could think. This topic is important to be talked, mainly because most of the people in the class are on the beginning of their college journey. Someone might not be perusing the career they actually want to pursue, and this presentation might have opened their eyes to consider studying what they are actually passionate about. The presentation was quite good, it was entertaining and engaging, the team members talked with clarity, gave examples and were prepared. Specifically Tana, she had a lot of self-confidence and seemed engaged to the topic, which made the audience to engage to the presentation. The presentation had a clear message and it was persecuted effectively. My favorite part of the presentation was the interview with Tana’s mom. It made the presentation personal and showed the importance of the theme being talked about. The story the person being interviewed was engaging and inspirational and had a clear message that encouraged us to fight for our dreams to come true no matter the challenges that may come our way. The fact that the person being interviewed was Tana’s mom gave life to the presentation and seeing Tana’s face while her mom was talking made us feel connected to what is being talked about. The theme is important and relevant to its audience resulting on being a success.

My group was group two we talked about fun and mental health. People normally don’t pay much attention to this theme, but it is a very important one. It is the requirement enjoy life and live fully. There are different ways to add this topic into our daily lives, from the decisions people make on their daily basis, until the laws government make to improve the mental health and the fun of their citizens. Prioritize mental health and having fun is fundamental to live a fulfilling life. The group dynamic was great, there was organization and good communication. We helped each other with our topics and challenges that we had on the making of the project. The presentation ended up being a success, every team member added their own spark to the presentation, we engaged with our topics and elevated it. In this presentation every team member was essential, but the most important one was definitely Zach, he supported every one of us and made the presentation special. Fun and mental health is an important topic that needs to be talked about to order to be implemented into our lives to and make it more enjoyable.

Group three talked about education and jobs. These two topics are intertwined, as well as the previous ones. In most industries, the higher the level of education, the bigger the opportunities of having a better job. But not everyone has the opportunity or economic status to go university. Over the years, there have been different programs to help students economically, so they could have possibility to have a career. Education is fundamental to have a successful career. Studying comes with sacrifice and effort, but it is beneficial for the future and the sacrifices are all worth it later in life. My classmates of group number two made a great job in delivering the message in a successful way, they talked in a clear way and explained well the topic being talked about and made the presentation engaging. They made lots of charts and polls which made the information trustworthy and gave a visual representation to the information being given. This topic is very important since it highlights the importance of having a professional career for bigger job opportunities and economic opportunities.

All these themes are fundamental to be talked about. They regard decision making, strategies, balance in life and choosing the best for yourself. The presentations were executed effectively, and they each had its own charm. The presentations were interesting, informative and engaging. The themes being talked about can all be applied to our personal lives. It is important to follow our dreams and not letting other stop us. It is also fundamental to prioritize mental health for the good functioning of the mind and set time from our daily basis some time to have fun and enjoy life. And last, but definitely not least it is important to study a good career to have success in the future. Life is full of surprises but if you try having balance, always trying your best, doing things you are passionate about and trying to always life live at its fullest, everything is going to be okay.
